The worst ISm yet to come?

THE TOOLS OF ISM

In the previous entry the idea of “ISms was  glanced at.  That is to say, whenever  we define ourselves or each other by one. Facet of our existence and then. Declare this ISM IS THE MEANING  we are doing everyone a disgusting disservice.  Speaking of  disservice’s..let’s. Take a look at one of the  largest barriers to seeking peace and joy....dualISM.  Unfortunately we have fallen into the trap of dualism as a society and maybe as  human beings.  We were allied  troops or  “axis” troops.  We are whites or non-whites.  We are men or women.  We are rural or urban.  Notice that none of these  has three or lords forbid four or more options?   Then we place a value on each and what we are—the characteristic that is used to. Describe us gets compared within our cultural context so it is is a benefit to be a white male rich Protestant most the time.  Better?  Why?  

Now we have conflicts between. Human beings who might not share the same ideas and the battle is over the  dualism. And the narrative.  Everyone wants to do better.  The ting is better for some is the comfortable way things were and for others it is far from that.  Then in order to simplify, we reach for the most convenient path and divide  into one category or another demanding that people identify with one side or the other.  We push the extreme and we push haste in choice.  We have raised. An entire generation 2who can communicate faster and broader than anyone. Before, and yet we have taught ourselves and them to stay within the right or the left lane and to get there darn quick.  We have taught that they need to be right and  anything different is not only less right, but it is wrong.  We have taught  them that if they don’t feel like they have enough it is okay to make sure that  others have  nothing or at least far less than they have.  Our world is in a messy situation and we haven’t taught  most people how to work through the challenges either on their own or together.  We don’t praise compromise and combinations of efforts very often and we often raise individuals. High up on pedals tools.  

Now we are witnessing  the results of not teaching  communication skills in schoools.  We are. Witnessnessing the results of not  learning  civil rights and governmental processes.  We are seeing the consequences of not valuing empathy.  We have a game called monopoly but we  don’t  have a game called “Listen and Everyone Wins!

Dualism cannot  create justice and as  Pope Joh, Paul, or Ringo  once said “If you want Peace work for Justice.   I think it was John the 23rd.  Will  we ever. Have Pope Mary or Pope Tyler, or Pope Zach?... I hope so.

One way to move forward is to start presale ting. At least three choices every time a decision is needed.  Stretch it to four choices  and a discussion when possible.  Let’s learn to  be on the same sid inside of picking sides before the discussion starts.
