Hind sight is not always 2020 and neither is inside

WHENEVER I REACH A TURNING POINT IN LIFE. I GO STRAIGHT

The first half of a very strange year has come to a close.  The buzzer  sounds at midnight tonight and those seeking peace and joy might imagine they are  jogging off into the locker room of life to rest a second and hear. About how to adjust for the second half and to receive  a motivational  talk.  So.. here we sit...take a breath.

Next, understand that no matter how weird  the first half of 2020 has been, you are still in the game.  Some parts of the game. Will be the same when you re-enter the arena.  The virus will still be with us.  We as a culture will still be focused on racial inequality. Without realizing racial inequality is not a cause it’s a symptom of our desire to simplistically  define  people as either like us or. Not like us.  There will still be  an overemphasis  on money being the evidence of being successful  and a legitimate end goal.  There will still be a gigantic need to teach everyone including our  youth that personal  responsibility is more important than  entitlement or government assistance and that personal responsibility includes  connecting with others. Sharing a purpose and. It also includes  helping  your fellow human to maximize their talents.  There will also be the need to shout in the streets.

“Find our. Common sense!  Find  our common  human needs Find our  common paths (notice the “S”  to. Creating  space for  a variety of expressions of values.

Imagine an advocacy event where people shouted out...

Show us how we can  help the world—how powerful that would be?  Imagine a billion people standing up and saying we will not abandon hope, but hope always. Starts with “hard Work” and must include Optimism (a belief that different things are possible—persistence —a series of prolonged disciplined acts will be need and Experimenting—-Trying nothing will lead nowhere and  trying a variety of things might be needed to learn where the barriers are and having the courage to say this way didn’t work in this place and at this time.

In many ways the second part of the. Year  that derailed the world is an ideal time to seek peace and joy through discovering  what new social ideas are possible, what new learning tools can be used, and what new collections of  fellow travelers can be formed to offer  dynamic new questions that can point to innovative and creative. Solutions to challenges that are being  uncovered at a revolutionary rate.

Here is our opportunity  to recognize that “life is a set of changes—it cracks our lenses and then reframes us—and if we stay hopeful we can surf this chaos.

Finally don’t ask yoursaelf if you are ready for the second part of this extraordinary year—ask each day if it is ready for the beautifully powerful change  we can plant, grow, grow and share
