Stopping is not enough

IT IS  TIME TO STOP...AND START

The last couple of  entries have. Been about stopping—ISMS of all types and especially dualism.  ISMS  allow and  often demand defining  people along the edges of extremes.  When we apply an ism we set someone up against a limit  on at least one side and often  on both sides or all sides.  We put  all the characteristics of a wonderful  person in a box, on a one-way straight track, or send them off through a one-lane tunnel.  Thus, if we want people to explore their gifts, pursue peace and joy, and provide  the surplus to the universe, we are  teaching people to limit themselves  or we are doing that by default.  So when challenges come to pass in our culture or in our world we find that we have  thrown away half our options already—discarded most the tools in our  utility belt—dumped most the crayons in our 64 pack with the sharpener built in...

Well we need to STOP all that——

Any single. Life needs to optyimized when possible.
Yet Stopping old habits and te3acvhing old  things is only the first step.   You can’t build a new house by burning  down the old one that the hurricane has mostly  scattered.  You have to sit down and decide what. Needs to be built.  Do you want the same house painted a different color?  I doubt it.  Do you want larger spaces devoted to creating things like music, art, or conversations.  What are the  experiences we want in our  house?  Unless we are living alone talking with the others who will share the space might be a great idea.  Other people might  have great ideas about the things this house needs. Not only for them, but for you too.   Oh... maybe  I’m using a house for a metaphor?  Maybe I meant a community, a school, a workplace,a family?   Or maybe. It’s just a house.

After a little talking maybe we could see what tools we have and  if we figure out wee don’t have a mitre box—look it up if you need to—then we can figure out who can  grow their tool set enough to help us all out.  If we don’t have3 a lawn mower don’t  let me buy. One and then shoot a rock through  the window of an entry door—what?  Oh that’s just something that could happen just saying. Seriously... Let’s. Start the process of redesigning the  house and seeing what tools we have to share.  We can stop the hurricane  and dig through the rubble and it is time for that.   Yet,  the stop is only step one.  Next we will need to include folks and begin finding all the tools we have to learn and build what is next.

Speaking of Next... Next week I’ll be selecting some quotes from some leaders to talk about in this blog... If you have any favorites—let me know.
